It’s A Glamorous Holiday Season!

When’s the last time you got dressed up? Really dressed up—with uncomfortable shoes? I can’t remember either. But if ever there was a time of year to glam it up, we’re here. Not that tailgating isn’t a perfectly acceptable date, but sometimes it’s fun to up your game. Here are some fabulous opportunities to have a glamorous date night in Northwest Arkansas and support some worthy causes at the same time.

5×5 Soiree
This is a gallery event and fundraiser for the Arts Center of the Ozarks. If you like wine and jazz, this is the party for you! The event gets its name from the miniature (5” x 5”) works of art they create especially for sale throughout the evening. Proceeds benefit the ACO. November 5th. See www.artscenteroftheozarks.org for tickets.

The Alzheimer Gala
Bid on spectacular Christmas trees at this dressy event held at the Hammons Center. Proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. November 14th. Contact Liz Vanzant at 479.245.2076 for details.

Lights of the Ozarks
While this super low-key event may not officially qualify as glamorous, it’s my kind of glitz. The annual display of lights transforms the Fayetteville Square into one of the most romantic spots in Northwest Arkansas. And it’s free!
Mercy Charity Ball
This black tie event attracts hundreds of the most exciting and successful people in Northwest Arkansas. Make it a date night to remember with a tux and a Very Special Dress! Proceeds benefit the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation. December 5th. Call Linda Phillips at 479.338.2934 for more information.

Top Chefs & Rock Stars
It’s reality TV come to life and more at this fun and competitive cook-off featuring the area’s hottest chefs. You can also bid on a band to perform at your own party or event. Proceeds benefit the Peace at Home Family Shelter. December 14th. See www.peaceathomeshelter.org for tickets.

Celebrity Waiter’s Dinner
You can’t get much more glamorous than this year’s theme: An Evening in Monte Carlo. See the shows and sample the fair at this black tie affair while local celebrities wait on you. Proceeds benefit the scholarship programs of Phi Alpha Omega, Alpha Kappa Alpha, and the Tea Rose Foundation of Northwest Arkansas. November 21st. Contact phialphaomega1908@yahoo.com.
